Privacy policy

Short version: your scripts and recordings never leave your device, there is no account, and we do not receive them. The long version explains exactly which data exists, where it lives and who else is involved.

1. The short version

Teleprompter Mirror Pro is designed so that the content you create never reaches us. There is no account system and no server that holds your material. Scripts, recordings, folders and settings are stored in the app’s own storage on your device.

  • We do not receive, store or process your scripts, recordings or AI drafts.
  • There is no sign-up, so we do not hold a name, password or profile for you.
  • Speech recognition for voice-following scroll runs on your device.
  • Remote control connects your two devices directly over your own network.
  • Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.
  • If you email support, we hold that email in order to answer it.

2. Who we are

Teleprompter Mirror Pro (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is the publisher of the mobile application of the same name and of the website at telepromptermirrorpro.com. For any privacy question, or to exercise a right described below, contact contact@telepromptermirrorpro.com.

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we are the controller for the limited personal data described in sections 9 and 10 — website usage and support correspondence. We are not a controller or processor of the content you create in the app, because that content is never transmitted to us.

3. Data the app handles

All of the following is created and stored on your device and is not transmitted to us:

  • Scripts — text you write, paste, import or generate, including rich-text formatting and cue markers.
  • Recordings — video and audio files captured in the app, and any exports you save to your photo library.
  • Library structure — folder names, colours and the organisation of your scripts.
  • Preferences — reading size, scroll speed and mode, capture mode, mirroring, theme and countdown settings.
  • Onboarding answers — the setup choices you make on first run, used only to set your defaults.

This data lives in the application container that your operating system assigns to the app. Deleting the app deletes all of it. Because we hold no copy, we cannot restore it for you — the other side of nothing being uploaded.

If your device or platform backs up applications (for example an encrypted iCloud or Google device backup), the app’s data may be included in that backup. That backup is between you and your platform provider under their terms, not something we operate or can access.

4. Device permissions

The app asks for permissions only when a feature needs one, and each is used solely on the device for the purpose named. Declining any of them leaves the rest of the app working.

  • Camera — to show the live preview and record video while you read. The video feed is processed on the device and written to your device.
  • Microphone — to record audio, and to drive voice-following scroll.
  • Speech recognition — so the device’s own recogniser can match what you are saying against your script. Audio is processed by that on-device recogniser; we do not receive it.
  • Photo library — to save your finished recordings into an album, and to add media you choose to a project.
  • Local network — to discover and connect to a companion device for remote control on your own Wi-Fi.
  • Notifications — optional practice reminders you schedule yourself. These are generated on the device.

5. AI script generation

Where your hardware supports it, drafting uses the foundation model built into your operating system, running on the device. Your topic and the resulting draft do not leave the handset, and we do not receive either. Every draft is labelled in the app with where it was written.

If your device cannot run an on-device model, the app produces a structured starter outline locally instead. A cloud model is used only if you have supplied an API key of your own; in that case your prompt is sent to the provider you chose, under that provider’s terms and privacy policy, and drafts written that way are labelled accordingly.

6. Remote control

When you use a second device as a remote, the two devices connect directly to each other over your local network. Connections require a pairing code shown on the prompter, and repeated incorrect codes are rate-limited. Commands, prompter state and the script text travel between your own two devices. No relay server is involved and nothing is sent to us.

7. Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), depending on where you downloaded the app. The app talks to StoreKit or Google Play Billing directly; there is no third-party subscription service in between.

We never see or store your name, card number, billing address or store account identity. To unlock Pro, the app verifies the transaction the store itself holds. Apple and Google each process your payment data as their own controllers under their respective privacy policies.

8. Diagnostics and analytics

The app includes crash reporting and product analytics so that we can find crashes and understand which features are used. Where these are active they collect technical and aggregated event information — for example device model, operating system version, app version, and the fact that a feature was opened — and they are configured never to include the content of your scripts, your recordings, your AI prompts or your transcripts.

Where your platform requires consent or offers an opt-out for this kind of processing (for example the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, or the analytics setting in the app), your choice is respected. We do not use this data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share it with data brokers.

9. This website

The website sets no advertising or tracking cookies and does not embed third-party trackers.

  • Hosting logs. Our hosting provider processes standard server request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — to serve the site and protect it from abuse. This is retained for a short period by the provider and used for security and troubleshooting only.
  • The free online teleprompter. Your script and its settings are kept in your browser’s own local storage on your device so the tool remembers them. That data never leaves your browser and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
  • Fonts and assets. Fonts are served from this domain, so loading a page does not disclose your visit to a font provider.

10. Contacting support

If you use the support form or email us, we receive the information you send: your name, your email address, the topic, any device details you provide, and your message. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem you describe. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing support, and — for the form — your explicit confirmation before sending.

The form is delivered by Web3Forms, which processes the submission solely to forward it to our inbox. Support correspondence is kept for up to 24 months so that we can follow up on recurring issues, then deleted.

11. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the app requires no account and collects no content, there is in normal use no personal data of a child for us to hold. If you believe a child has sent us personal data through support, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. In practice these apply to the limited data described in sections 8 to 10, since your app content is never in our hands.

  • Your app content — you already control it entirely. Delete a script, a recording, or the whole app, and it is gone.
  • Support correspondence — email contact@telepromptermirrorpro.com and we will provide a copy or delete it.
  • Complaints — if you are in the UK or the EEA you may complain to your data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

13. Retention and deletion

  • App content — retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Support email — up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Server logs — retained briefly by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
  • Diagnostics — retained in aggregated form under the provider’s standard retention period.

14. International transfers

Our website hosting, email and support-form providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Your app content is not transferred anywhere, because it is not transmitted at all.

15. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will make that clear in the app or on this site rather than relying on you noticing a new date.

16. Contact

Privacy questions, requests and complaints: contact@telepromptermirrorpro.com. We aim to respond within one business day and to resolve formal requests within 30 days.
