About

We built the teleprompter we wanted to use.

Small team, one app, one constraint we refused to trade away: nothing you write or record leaves your device.

The problem we kept hitting

Every teleprompter app we tried made the same two assumptions. The first was that we wanted an account — a sign-up before we could read a paragraph off a screen. The second was that our scripts belonged in their cloud, which is a strange place for an unannounced product name, a client’s unreleased campaign or a piece of writing that is simply not finished yet.

Neither assumption is necessary. A teleprompter is a device that shows you text while a camera points at you. Everything it needs is already in your hand.

So we removed the server

Not “we encrypt your data”, not “we do not sell your data” — we removed the part that would have held it. There is no account system, no sync service and no analytics pipeline carrying your words anywhere. Scripts and recordings live in the app’s own database on the device that made them.

That choice cascades. AI drafting had to run on the phone’s own model rather than in a data centre. Remote control had to be a direct connection over your own Wi-Fi rather than a relay we operate. Voice-following scroll had to use the speech recogniser built into the device. Each of those was harder to build than the cloud version. All of them work with the network switched off, which turns out to matter more often than you would think — studio basements, conference floors, aeroplanes, and any venue whose Wi-Fi has a captive portal.

What it costs us

We are honest about this on the comparison page too. No server means no cloud sync between your devices, no web app, no shared team libraries and no collaborative editing. If those are requirements for you, a cloud-first competitor is genuinely the better choice, and we would rather you found that out here than after paying us.

It also means the subscription is the whole business model. There is no data to sell and no advertising to run, so the app is funded by the people who use it. That is the trade, stated plainly, and it is why the free tier is a genuinely useful app rather than a watermarked demo.

How we build

The app is native where it counts. Background blur and green-screen replacement run through the platform’s own camera stack — Vision and Metal on iOS, CameraX and ML Kit on Android — so the effect is composited into the file you keep, not just into the preview you watched. Subscriptions talk to StoreKit and Play Billing directly, with no third-party subscription service in the loop, which is one fewer company holding a record of what you bought.

Talk to us

Support goes to a person on the team who can change the code, not to a ticket queue. If something is broken, if something is missing, or if you just want to argue with a decision we made, write to contact@telepromptermirrorpro.com or use the support form.

What we will not do

Four commitments, written down.

Easy to promise, so here they are somewhere you can hold us to them.

We will not upload your scripts

Not for backup, not for improving a model, not for anything. There is no upload path in the app.

We will not sell or share your data

We have nothing to sell. There is no account, no profile and no advertising identifier in the app.

We will not watermark your work

On any plan, including free. Your video is your video.

We will not hold your payment details

Billing runs through Apple and Google. We never see a card number.
