The recogniser produces a rolling transcript of what you just said. A matcher lines that transcript up against the script, works out which word you are on, and moves the text so that word sits in the reading band. That is the whole trick — and because the matching is continuous, a change of pace is absorbed within a syllable or two.

You stumble and restart a sentence

Repeated words match the same position, so the script holds rather than jumping forward twice.

The matcher keeps looking for your next scripted phrase and resumes cleanly when you return to it.

It searches ahead as well as behind, so a deliberate jump is followed rather than fought.

Voice Follow uses the speech recogniser that ships with your phone, running on the device. No audio is uploaded, no transcript is stored on a server, and the whole feature works in airplane mode. The permission prompt you see asks for speech recognition because the recogniser needs it — not because anything is leaving the handset.

What is voice-activated teleprompter scrolling?

Instead of scrolling at a fixed speed you set in advance, the script advances based on what you are actually saying. Speech recognition matches your words against the script and keeps the line you are currently on in the reading position. Speak faster and it speeds up; stop talking and it stops.

Does my voice get sent to a server?

No. Voice Follow uses the speech recogniser built into your phone, running on the device. Your audio is not streamed to us or to any third party, and Voice Follow keeps working with no network connection at all.

What happens if I go off-script?

The matcher tolerates it. Ad-lib for a sentence, repeat a phrase for emphasis, or skip a line you decided you did not need, and it looks ahead and behind in the script to find where you actually are. If it loses you completely it holds position rather than jumping somewhere random, so you can pick up from the visible text.

Which languages does it work in?

Voice Follow uses your device’s own speech recogniser, so the languages available depend on your phone and OS version rather than on us. Any language and locale your device can recognise offline will work.

Is it better than fixed-speed scrolling?

For talking to camera, usually yes — natural delivery is not metronomic, and a fixed speed forces you to either rush or wait. Fixed speed is still the better choice when you need an exact runtime, such as a timed news read or a scripted ad, so both modes are included.

Do I need Pro for Voice Follow?
