How to use it

Three steps, no account.

It is deliberately small. Everything it does, it does without asking you for anything.

1 · Paste your script

Type it or paste it in. It is saved in this browser so it survives a refresh — and it never travels anywhere else.

2 · Set size and pace

Bigger text and a narrower line width are easier to read at a distance. Start slower than feels right; you can speed up mid-read.

3 · Read the band

Keep your eyes in the marked zone rather than following the text down the screen. That is what keeps you looking at the lens.

When to use the app instead

A browser can only take you so far.

This tool is genuinely useful and genuinely free. But a web page cannot listen to your voice reliably, cannot record you while it scrolls, cannot keep a phone screen awake for a twenty-minute read, and cannot be driven from a second device. Those are the reasons the app exists.

Is this online teleprompter free?
Yes, completely, with no sign-up, no watermark and no time limit. It runs in your browser and is free to use for personal and commercial work.

Is my script uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your script is kept in your browser’s own local storage on this device so it is still there when you come back, and it is never sent to a server — ours or anyone else’s.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The controls adapt to small screens and the prompter runs fullscreen in mobile browsers. For serious mobile use the app is better, mainly because a browser cannot keep the screen awake reliably or record while it scrolls.

Can I mirror the text for a teleprompter rig?
Yes — press M for a horizontal flip and Shift + M for a vertical one, or use the buttons. That covers a beam-splitter rig using a laptop or tablet screen.

What are the keyboard shortcuts?
Space plays and pauses. Up and down arrows change the scroll speed. Plus and minus change the text size. M mirrors horizontally, Shift + M mirrors vertically. R restarts from the top. F toggles fullscreen. Escape exits the prompter.

What does the app do that this does not?
Voice-following scroll, recording video while you read, background blur and green screen, the on-device AI script writer, remote control from a second phone, script folders and import from PDF or Word. This tool is the reading part on its own.
